We visited some of the waterfalls around Banos today. As I said in the first Banos post, there are an extraordinary number of waterfalls here, including the second highest in Ecuador. This waterfall has climbs on both sides of it, and we went down one side. However, it is impossible to see the whole waterfall, as half of it is hidden. However I hope you can get an appreciation for the size of the lower half from the picture.
The other picture is of two waterfalls, which dramatically shows just how much sediment goes into the Amazon.
These waterfalls were all along the old road. We walked along a part of it which has waterfalls going straight onto the road! It must have been very difficult to drive along when it was a major thoroughfare.
