Isabella Bay and Arctic Harbour

Today’s aim was to see bowhead whales. You can see we succeeded. There were quite a few! The tail photo was after we went through Isabella Bay into Arctic Harbour, while the blow was as we were leaving Isabella Bay.

Arctic Harbour was gorgeous.

We went fairly close to the coast and saw several types of bird. Firstly, king eider in winter plumage.

Next are snow geese.

The way out of Isabella Bay was spectacular too.

The icebergs come from Greenland. That’s where we’re now headed. Goodbye Baffin Island, it’s been lovely. It takes 22 hours to cross the Davis Strait so there won’t be much happening.
