Abel Tasman Walk - Day 5

This was the final day of the walk, and because of the route I decided to walk, it was 19 kilometres. Firstly, my path went around the estuary where I’d kayaked the previous morning.

Then I went up the path towards cleopatra’s pool, which ran alongside a stream.

And then I continued on the path that everyone else took. There were lots of gaps in the forest because this part of the park was added later and has been regenerated for a shorter period.

At the halfway point, I stopped to have lunch and saw the kayaks come in and get loaded on the water taxi that would take them back to the start. The winds were in the wrong direction for the kayakers to continue, as they could be pushed out to sea.

I continued on, 

until I came to the big estuary at the end of the park, 

and came to the end of a fantastic journey. The walk was well worth doing!
