Towards Macquarie Island

Today we had a day at sea, since it takes time to get to Macquarie Island. For a lot of the time we were following the sea ridge formed by the Australian, Antarctic and New Zealand tectonic plates meeting one another. As a result, there are a lot of fish, krill and other sea creatures in these waters and there were lots of birds, even though we were far from any land.
