Juneau

I am in Juneau for less than 24 hours, having arrived at 1pm. They have reopened their museum yesterday, so it is half price this week! It is quite good, but I had lots of problems with the lighting shining onto cabinets, so few of the photos were any good.

There is another museum on the history of Juneau and Douglas (the island connected by a bridge), and I went to the Sealaska Heritage Centre, which had just finished putting an exhibition together, so it had free entry today. Their exhibition is of work done in the last two years, and it was very good.

Unfortunately, there is an enormous festival starting tomorrow when I won't be here. They will have 50 First Nations dance teams...

There are four cruise ships in port, and the streets very close to the ships were full of people.

Up on a hill (Juneau is Very up and down) is the oldest Russian Orthodox Church in Alaska.
