Through the mountains to Panquehue.
At Panquehue we visited three establishments. The first was a garden and nursery that had been created from a lawn. The owner travels around Chile, collecting seeds of plants that interest her. Her garden has many Chile native plants and many other plants from around the world. It is abundantly planted, with wide gravel paths.
Then we went to the vineyard that makes wine currently rated the best in the world - Vina Errazurit. We toured their cellars and most people saw the different parts of the process and had a wine tasting. Their gardens had been designed by Juan Grimm. The setting was magnificent.
The last place were private gardens, created by the largest avocado grower in Chile. The gardens were extensive. First we saw the garden behind the house, which had been developed into a large number of raised garden beds, although at first glance it looked like a closely planted area, as it was originally sunken. The kitchen garden was treated the same way.
Then we walked to the side of the house where there was a large lake with two islands, and man made waterfalls.
Further away we went through the extensive horse setup.
As we ambled through the paths, we noticed the stream with several sets of man made rapids, which ended in a pond in front of the house.
The owner had also built buildings and walls from stacks of firewood.
