But, in the morning we had to go.
We went straight back over the plain to Fort Simpson.
At the visitors centre, we saw the chair that had been made for Pope John Paul II when he visited.
And a spruce bark canoe
Then we started to drive back to Yellowknife. We crossed the Liard River on the ferry.
At a rest stop, we found an enormous raspberry patch. Canadians can pick berries at least twice as fast as Australians, so we ended up with a lot because they were all ripe.
Went to the Sambaa Deh Falls.
And continued on to Trout River, where there were another set of falls.
We also saw part of a moose skeleton in the moss and lichen there.
On the road between Fort Providence and Yellowknife, we saw nine bison with two calves - one born this year, and the darker one last year.
We arrived really late in Yellowknife because the plane had had to wait for the fog to lift before coming to get us from Little Doctor Lake.
