Of course the Cabot Trail (a road for cars and intrepid bicycles) mainly encircles the Cape Breton National Park, and there are many trails off the trail.
The first I went on is the signature trail - the Skyline - which has a lookout where you go down many steps, but it is a loop trail.
Then I went to the bog trail. It’s pretty self explanatory.
I had lunch at White point.
I then visited a trail through a very old sugar maple forest that featured a replica crofters cottage, as this area once had many Scottish crofters.
The road went inland overlooking the Mackenzie river valley, and there was a trail up the valley to a waterfall.
Another trail went to the beach and I saw more trolls.
