Goodbye Canada

Yesterday was a miserable day, and it ended far too late, so I'm doing two posts today and this one is for yesterday.

I wasn't expecting much, because I had been told there were a lot of roadworks between me and the border, but first, goodbye to the lake.

There was rain, and roadworks, and a border and more roadworks and more rain. At one point it said 46km of gravel road.

Alaska seemed to be less scenic than Canada.

And then I hit Fairbanks at about 6:30pm, and spent the next two hours trying to find an open RV park. Eventually I stayed at the North Pole Hotel, and this morning I took pictures of North Pole (including their shut RV park which even had live reindeer).
